The member representing Isoko Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Rep. Jonathan Ukodhiko, has congratulated the President General of Isoko Development Union (IDU), Prof. Christopher Akpotu, on the occasion of his birth anniversary on June 3.
In a statement on Tuesday in Abuja, the National Assembly member described the IDU’s president general as a “dedicated Nigerian federalist, Isoko patriot and intellectual of remarkable brilliance.”
Rep. Ukodhiko said that Prof. Akpotu has, over the years as president general of the IDU, shown capacity, exuded uncommon strength, boldness, strong character, remarkable candour, and astuteness in handling the affairs of the Isoko people.
“As a cerebral scholar, our highly respected president general has brought to bear his erudition and administrative experience in piloting the affairs of the umbrella socio-cultural organization of all Isoko people, the IDU.
“Under his watch as President General, Prof. Akpotu commendably promotes peaceful coexistence, cohesion of Isoko, and ensures the sustenance of the vision of the founding fathers of the IDU.
“I must commend you for promoting the Isoko identity, and your efforts in addressing the challenges of IDU for the overall interest of Isoko,” he said.

The House member appreciated the IDU’s president general for the continued collaboration aimed at putting IDU in the national consciousness.
“This collaborative effort has helped in expressing our opinions on national issues and articulating our hopes and aspirations.
“On behalf of the people of Isoko Federal Constituency, I congratulate an erudite scholar and highly regarded President-General of the Isoko Development Union, Prof. Christopher Akpotu, on his birth anniversary.
“I pray to God to endow Prof. Akpotu with good health and more wisdom in his service to the Isoko nation,” Rep. Ukodhiko said.
