The Deputy Governor of Delta State, Sir Monday Onyeme, FCA, has urged affluent Deltans both at home and in the diaspora to channel their investments into the state’s rapidly growing economy, emphasizing that Delta must not rely solely on outsiders for development.

Speaking during the grand opening of Decency Hotel and Suites in Kwale, Ndokwa West Local Government Area, Onyeme hailed the project as a major boost to the local tourism and hospitality sector. He noted that such initiatives prove the state’s immense potential for high-yield investments.

“This hotel is a major addition to our tourism industry,” Onyeme declared. “It sends a strong message to Deltans everywhere that home is ready for business. We cannot leave the development of our land solely in the hands of non-Deltans. The time to invest in Delta is now.”

He praised the enabling environment created under the administration of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, highlighting the success of the MORE Agenda in making Delta one of the most investment-friendly states in Nigeria. Onyeme assured that businesses in the state can look forward to quick and sustainable returns, especially when committed to genuine enterprise.

Addressing infrastructural concerns, Onyeme acknowledged the challenges of power supply in Kwale and surrounding areas but revealed that the state government is actively collaborating with relevant agencies to ensure stable electricity across Ndokwa land and beyond.

“What we need from our people is patience, continued prayers, and support for Governor Oborevwori’s government. Together, we can transform Delta into an investment hub,” he added.

Earlier in his remarks, Chief Benson Ogwu, Chairman of Decency Hotel and Suites, expressed confidence that the new facility would boost tourism and deliver world-class hospitality services, putting Kwale firmly on the map as a destination of choice.

The star-studded commissioning ceremony drew the attendance of top government officials, traditional rulers, business leaders, and industry stakeholders, all united in the vision of a more prosperous Delta.
