The Developing Engineering Leaders Through Her (Delt-Her) on Saturday, May 31, 2025, launched its initiative, inviting Nigerian women with bright and innovative engineering concepts to submit their applications for its 2025 empowerment programme.
The empowerment programme aims to transform the women’s concepts into actual businesses by offering comprehensive support, mentorship, and funding.
The eligibility criteria for the empowerment programme, include being a woman aged 23 to 45, who boast a compelling proposal and is part of a female-led team.
The application deadline is July 31, 2025. However, early applications will be prioritized for swift processing, according to the programme officials.
Delt-Her Women is a Nigerian initiative inspired by global programmes, drawing from the experiences of the Anita Borg Institute in the USA, Girl Up! a United Nations Foundation, and the Applied Science Technologists of British Columbia, tailored for Nigeria to assist more women in transitioning from concepts to impactful engineering solutions.
The initiative is designed to empower young Nigerian women to emerge as leaders in the field of engineering by nurturing their creative ideas.
Also, it encompasses a comprehensive support system.
The program will deliver funding aimed at transforming women’s concepts into functional products or businesses, mentorship from seasoned professionals in engineering and business, as well as workshops and practical training to enhance their leadership and technical skills.
Additionally, it will create connections between participants and industry leaders, along with potential investors.
