The Kogi senator stated this in her message to Nigerian children in commemoration of the 2025 Children’s Day.

She referred to the day as a significant event that recognizes children as the most valuable treasure within the nation’s communities.

In a statement released on Tuesday, the senator emphasized the necessity of honouring the day dedicated to children.

“This is a moment for us to think about the vital role of nurturing, safeguarding, and empowering the future leaders, innovators, and agents of change,” she said.

Sen. Akpoti-Uduaghan further said that while the country celebrates the Children’s Day, it is crucial to acknowledge the difficulties confronting many youths, particularly young girls.

She highlighted issues such as bullying, violence, and exploitation as posing severe threats to the health and security of children, as the major concerns facing the country.

“It is our united duty to foster a community that emphasizes their protection and well-being,” Sen. Akpoti-Uduaghan said, urging all Nigerians to collectively empower children to confront bullies wherever they encounter them.

“There is a need to establish an environment that motivates and inspires children to pursue the highest levels of their dreams.

“As a nation, it is essential for us to invest in the education, health, and growth of our youth. Providing the necessary opportunities and resources for them is crucial for their personal development.

“Doing this will help us unlock their potential and pave the way for a brighter future for our country.

“On this Children’s Day, I want to convey a message filled with hope and support to every child.

“I believe in your capabilities, care about your well-being, and am dedicated to fostering a community that honours and safeguards your rights.

“I encourage you to dream ambitiously, put in the effort, and persist in your goals. As we honour Children’s Day, let us reaffirm our dedication to creating a Nigeria that is suitable for our young ones.

“Let’s unite our efforts to reshape a community that emphasises their welfare, protects their rights, and empowers them to achieve their fullest potential”

Together, we can shape a better future for both our children and our nation,” the senator charged.
