The Adamawa State Executive Council has approved the award of contracts worth over N23 billion for major infrastructure projects, aimed at boosting development, investment, and public services across the state.

Announcing the approvals after the council meeting presided over by Deputy Governor Kaletapwa Farauta, the Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Mr. James Iliya, revealed that a significant portion of the funding, N18.972 billion will go towards the construction of the Adamawa State International Conference and Event Centre.

The contract, awarded to Messrs Lubell Nigeria Limited, includes a 1,000-capacity multi-purpose hall, a 350-seat auditorium, 100-capacity seminar room, syndicate rooms, pre-function gathering area, restaurants, shops, a kitchen and catering area, medical support facilities, security/CCTV systems, and a landscaped concourse.

According to Iliya, the project is expected to attract investors, boost revenue generation, and create employment opportunities.

Also approved was a revised design for the roofing of the popular stand and roof covering of the Adamawa State Stadium Complex.

The N1.96 billion contract was awarded to Messrs Aron Nigeria Limited.

The upgrade aims to bring the facility to international standards and improve its resistance to harsh weather conditions.

In addition, the council approved N614 million for the renovation and remodeling of the Adamawa State Governor’s Lodge in Kaduna, with the contract awarded to Messrs Albarka Building Construction Limited.

The state government also allocated N2 billion as its counterpart funding for the Rural Access and Agricultural Marketing Project (RAAMP-SU), aimed at improving rural infrastructure and boosting agricultural trade.

Meanwhile, the state executive council has banned the posting of posters on public structures across the state.

The state government warned that violators will face legal consequences.
