President Bola Tinubu has expressed his heartfelt congratulations to His Holiness Leo XIV following his election victory as the pope of Rome and the newly elected head of the Roman Catholic Church.
The Nigerian President communicated his best regards via his media spokesperson, Bayo Onanuga, on Thursday.
Tinubu also congratulated the election of American Robert Francis Cardinal Prevost as the 267th Bishop of Rome.
The President expressed joy alongside the leaders and members of the Catholic Church in Nigeria regarding the significant election of the new Pontiff, whose message of faith and hope already has a global reach, bringing reassurance from the scriptures for a more peaceful existence.
