Rapper OdumoduBlvck received the ‘Next Rated’ at the 2025 Headies award. The night took an unexpected turn when his microphone was muted during his acceptance speech, in which he spoke about Jesus. Instead of leaving the stage, he chose to stay and continue.
The ceremony featured several heartwarming moments, including a tribute to the late singer Mohbad, whose real name was Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba. He was honored as the ‘Best Street Artist,’ and his collaboration with Chike, titled “Egwu,” received the Headies Viewers’ Choice award. In a touching moment, Mohbad’s family, including his wife and young son, Liam, accepted the awards on his behalf, earning a standing ovation from the audience.
During the event, Tanzanian singer Juma Jux created a special moment by dancing with his Nigerian wife, Priscilla Ojo, while performing his song “God’s Design.” He also won the award for Best East Africa Artist.
