Ahead of the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UMTE) scheduled to commence on April 24, 2025, across the country, the Anambra State Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Maku Olatunde has ordered the deployment of personnel to provide security for the smooth and hitch- free examination across the state.
Briefing the area commanders, divisional officers, heads of formations and composite commanders in Awka, Olatunde said the personnel will respond promptly to duty calls, provide security for critical infrastructure, prevent intrusion of unwanted persons and uphold the integrity of the examination in all the 33 accredited Computer-Based Test (CBT) centers across the state.
He directed that personnel arrive at the centers before 6:00 am each day, emphasising their key role in screening candidates for prohibited items and maintaining a serene environment throughout the examination period.

Maku tasked them to caution operatives assigned to the CBT centers to strictly adhere to the guidelines governing the UTME and maintain utmost professionalism in the discharge of their duties.
This is contained in a statement issued on Wednesday by the Head, Media, Okadigbo Edwin, and made available to journalists in Awka.
The NSCDC state commandant warned against unauthorised persons loitering around designated CBT examination centers and advised candidates against bringing prohibited items, emphasising the command’s commitment to arrest and prosecute anyone found wanting.
