Dani Olmo netted the crucial goal as Barcelona controlled the game against Mallorca, increasing their lead at the top of La Liga to seven points.
The Spanish midfielder found the back of the net just 41 seconds into the second half after Barcelona had failed to score despite taking 24 shots in the first half.
Mallorca’s goalkeeper, Leo Roman, made impressive saves to stop efforts from Lamine Yamal and Ferran Torres before halftime, as the visitors struggled under intense pressure from Barcelona.
In a remarkable sequence, Roman and his defense thwarted Barcelona’s attempts from within the penalty area four times in 15 seconds.
Although Mallorca had only 22 percent possession during the first half, they successfully broke through Barcelona’s high defensive line on three occasions, only to be ruled offside.
As the teams headed into halftime, Barcelona faced jeers from the crowd, but Olmo calmed the rising tension at the Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys with a composed left-footed finish.
