President of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Most Rev. David Onuoha, has urged Nigerians to unite in preserving the country’s stability, amid the economic hardship and insecurity challenges in the country.

In a statement released on Monday, Most. Rev. Onuoha, expressed deep concern over rising tensions nationwide, warning that ongoing unrest serves no one’s interest.

He called on leaders at all levels to prioritize the welfare of citizens and avoid actions that could further destabilize the nation.

“At a time of economic hardship and insecurity, efforts should be focused on solutions that make life more meaningful for Nigerians.

“Leaders must ensure their actions do not escalate tension, as impunity often leads to anarchy,” he stated.

The CAN president also stressed the importance of fairness in the judiciary, noting that Nigerians rely on the courts to uphold accountability and justice.

He further reminded lawmakers of their responsibility to serve the people with integrity, cautioning against decisions that could erode public trust.

Expressing concern over escalating violence across the country—perpetrated by terrorists, bandits, and armed herdsmen, Most Rev. Onuoha urged authorities to take decisive action to curb the bloodshed.

He warned that failure to address these security threats could put Nigeria’s future at risk.

Despite the prevailing challenges, he remained hopeful about the nation’s prospects, emphasizing that justice, fairness, and unity are essential for Nigeria’s progress.

As the country observes the holy periods of Lent and Ramadan, Most Rev. Onuoha encouraged Nigerians to use the time to reflect, repent, and pray for peace.
