Nollywood actress Bamike Olawunmi-Adenibuyan, popularly known as BamBam, has taken to social media to expose what she describes as an unsettling encounter with a Nigerian police officer.
In a viral post on X (formerly Twitter) on Friday, BamBam recounted how she was stopped by an officer under questionable circumstances. According to her, the officer made an unsolicited request for money, pressuring her in a way she found inappropriate and forceful.
The actress revealed that while returning home from a movie set, she and her assistant were pulled over without explanation. The officer, instead of conducting a standard security check, allegedly insisted on a bribe in the guise of asking her to “show him love.” Feeling trapped, she said she reluctantly complied to avoid potential escalation.

Expressing her frustration, BamBam questioned why encounters with law enforcement should make citizens feel uneasy rather than protected. She pointed out the stark difference between a respectful request for tips and the kind of forceful demand she experienced, which she believes reflects a deeper issue within the system.
She wrote: “Just wrapped up from a movie set, heading home, and Nigerian police stopped us for no reason—forced us to step down only to start begging for money. What kind of nonsense is this? If we refused, what would they have done?”
Her post has since sparked widespread reactions online, with many Nigerians sharing similar experiences of alleged police misconduct. The incident reignites the ongoing conversation about police reforms and the need to restore public trust in law enforcement.
