Super Eagles attackers, Ademola Lookman and Samuel Chukwueze, have been ranked among the top 50 dribblers in the Italian Serie A in the ongoing 2024-25 season.

According to statistics published by Euro Football rumors, Lookman and Chukwueze are the only Nigerian internationals featured in the list, that ranks players based on the number of successful dribbles completed in Italy’s top flight.

Lookman, the Atalanta winger, leads the way among Nigerian players, having completed 27 dribbles in 23 league appearances.

That translates to an average of 1.2 dribbles per game, placing him 22nd overall in Serie A’s ranking of top dribblers.

The former Everton star, who is the Serie A’s highest-rated performer, has been far more than just a flashy dribbler — he has also delivered an impressive end product.

With 13 goals and five assists, Lookman has been one of Serie A’s most influential attackers this season.

Meanwhile, AC Milan’s Chukwueze ranks 40th overall with 20 completed dribbles. He shares this position with Napoli’s Frank Anguissa, Udinese’s Martín Payero, Cagliari’s Tommaso Augello, and Monza’s Warren Bondo.

Chukwueze’s numbers are particularly notable given his limited game time. The 24-year-old has played just 796 minutes across 21 Serie A matches, starting only nine times for Milan.

Despite his struggles for a regular starting role, Chukwueze’s dribbling efficiency remains impressive, averaging 2.2 dribbles per 90 minutes.

However, his lack of consistent minutes has affected his overall contributions, with the Nigerian winger managing just three league goals this season.

At the top of the dribbling chart, Como’s Nico Paz leads the way with 57 completed dribbles, followed by AC Milan’s Rafael Leão (50), Venezia’s Gaetano Oristanio (48), Juventus’ Kenan Yildiz (45), and Lazio’s Nuno Tavares (44).

Lookman and Chukwueze will now shift their focus to international duty as they look to bring their dribbling flair to Nigeria’s 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.

Both players have been included in the Super Eagles squad for the upcoming fixtures against Rwanda and Zimbabwe and have already joined the team’s training camp in Kigali.

With Nigeria set to face Rwanda at the Amahoro Stadium on March 21, followed by a clash against Zimbabwe four days later, Lookman is expected to be a key figure in the attack. His club form suggests he is almost a guaranteed starter under Franco-Malian coach Eric Chelle.

Chukwueze, on the other hand, may find himself on the bench due to his struggles at Milan, with stiff competition for attacking spots in the Super Eagles lineup.

Both players will also be eager to open their goal accounts in the ongoing World Cup qualifying campaign.

Lookman, who has eight goals in 27 appearances for Nigeria, and Chukwueze, with six goals in 42 caps, have yet to find the net in the current qualifiers.
