Swedish Allsvenskan side IFK Göteborg have announced that former Nigeria U-20 international, Suleiman Abdullahi has left the club by mutual consent.
According statement on the club’s official website, IFK Göteborg and Abdullahi have mutually agreed to terminate the current contract, meaning the Nigerian is now a free agent.
The Gee-Lec Academy product joined IFK Göteborg from German Bundesliga outfit Union Berlin in the summer of 2022, signing a three-year deal.
During his time at IFK Göteborg, he appeared in 30 matches across all competitions and scored one goal.
In his final season at The Angels, he played in three games across all competitions, logging only 28 minutes, due to a knee injury due that plagued him for much of the campaign.

Reflecting on Suleiman leaving the club, IFK Goteborg Sports Director, Hannes Stiller stated that the Nigerian faced challenges due to lingering injuries, adding that both parties did not get the best out of each other, but they are parting on very good terms.
Stiller described Suleiman described Suleiman as a great person and extended best wishes for his success at his next club.
Apart from the aforementioned clubs, the 28-year-old lists El-Kanemi Warriors, Viking FK and Eintracht Braunschweig as his previous employers.
