The Commissioner of Police in Enugu State, Mr. Kanayo Uzuegbu, has decorated 92 newly promoted senior officers of the Enugu State Police Command.
The officers, who were recently elevated to their next ranks by the Police Service Commission, include 20 chief superintendents of police, 18 superintendents of police, and 54 deputy superintendents of police.
Decorating the officers on Thursday in Enugu, the commissioner congratulated the promoted officers and tasked them to be more responsive to their duties.
He emphasised that the promotion should be considered as a call to greater dedication, responsibility and discretion in the discharge of their duties.
The state police boss encouraged the promoted officers to let their elevation serve as motivation for increased diligence and productivity.

Speaking on behalf of the promoted officers, CSP Chidozie Okebugwu, expressed gratitude to the Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, for recommending them for the promotion.
Okebugwu, who is also the Divisional Police Officer of Abakaliki Road Division, also appreciated the Police Service Commission for approving their promotion.
He thanked the state police commissioner and his management teams for their guidance, while assuring that the promoted officers will remain dutiful and strive to exceed expectations in their new capacities.
The spouses, relatives, friends and associates of the promoted officers attended the decoration ceremony.
