The newly appointed Permanent Secretary of the Federal Ministry of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Dr. Ibrahim Kana has assured Nigerians that a new national air carrier will be a realty.
A press release by the ministry’s Head of Public Affairs, Odutayo Oluseyi, said the permanent secretary made this known at the handing Abubakar Kana made this known at the ministry’s headquarters in Abuja, during the handing over ceremony organized by the ministry.
Kana, a former permanent secretary in the Federal Ministry of Defence said that his assurance on the birthing of a new national air carrier is premised on President Tinubu’s renewed hope agenda in the aviation sector.
He stated that he will give his unreserved support to the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, in achieving targets set by the Tinubu administration in the aviation and aerospace sectors.

“Resources are scare, so we need to embrace the private sector to support Nigeria’s aviation industry,” the permanent secretary said.
The statement added that the outgone Permanent Secretary, Dr. Emmanuel Meribole, thanked the president for the opportunity to contribute to the development of the country’s aviation industry.
He said the civil service is continuous, adding that his exit from the service will not stop the growth of the aviation ministry and urged the ministry’s staff to extend the collaboration and teamwork which he enjoyed to the new permanent secretary.
“No man is perfect, but I have always wished to leave a place better than how I met it, and I believe I have done that,” Meribole stated.
