The Northern States Governors’ Forum, under the leadership of Gombe State Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, has expressed deep sorrow following the tragic death of Abdulwahab Umar Namadi, the 24-year-old son of Jigawa State Governor Mallam Umar Namadi.
The devastating loss occurred on Thursday, December 26, 2024, when Abdulwahab was involved in a fatal motor accident along the Dutse-Kafin-Hausa Road. This tragedy struck just hours after the Namadi family suffered another heartbreak—the passing of Governor Namadi’s mother, Hajiya Maryam.
In a statement issued by Governor Yahaya through his Director-General of Press Affairs, Ismaila Uba Misilli, the Northern Governors’ Forum described the double tragedy as “heart-wrenching” and a test of faith. Governor Yahaya urged Governor Namadi and his family to take solace in their faith, emphasizing that, “What Allah takes belongs to Him, and what He gives is also His, for everything occurs at its appointed time according to His will.”

He expressed his hope that they find eternal rest in Aljannat Firdaus. Additionally, he extended prayers for strength and patience to the grieving family, encouraging them to remain steadfast during this difficult period.
The tragic events have sparked an outpouring of condolences from across the country, with many describing the losses as a heavy blow to the Namadi family and the people of Jigawa State.
