The African Technology Policy Studies Network (ATPS), a leading non-governmental organization, has launched a groundbreaking initiative to enhance the skills and capabilities of farmers in Ebonyi State. The study, conducted in Ndukwu Azu Nkwegu, Abakaliki Local Government Area, brought together an array of stakeholders, including farmers, extension agents, researchers, civil society groups, and media practitioners.
ATPS, renowned for its work in promoting technology, science, and policy research for Africa’s development, seeks to empower farmers with the tools and knowledge necessary to thrive in an evolving agricultural landscape. The network operates as a collaboration of international policymakers, researchers, and media professionals dedicated to advancing sustainable practices across the continent.
National Coordinator of ATPS, Professor Michael Madukwe, emphasized the study’s focus on equipping farmers with essential skills to enhance productivity. He highlighted that climate change poses a significant threat to agricultural activities and called for unified action among researchers, farmers, and media practitioners to address its challenges.

She voiced optimism that the program would significantly impact the state’s farmers, empowering them to overcome obstacles and achieve greater success in their agricultural activities.
