The Senate has stated that the lifespan of the 2024 budget will be extended to June 25, 2025.
Senate President, Senator Godswill Akpabio made this known in his opening remarks during the presentation of the 2025 Appropriation Bill by President Bola Tinubu to the joint sitting of the National Assembly on Wednesday.
Sen. Akpabio stressed that the 2024 budget performance was 50 percent for capital expenditure and 48 percent for recurrent expenditure.

Tinubu had arrived at the National Assembly Complex in Abuja to present the 2025 appropriation bill.
Tinubu arrived at the House of Representatives chambers, venue for the presentation in the company of ministers, advisers and other top government officials under heavy security presence.
