Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, has signed the 2025 Appropriation Bill into law. The budget, valued at ₦979,228,818,719, was passed by the Delta State House of Assembly just 20 days after its presentation.

At the signing ceremony held at Government House, Asaba, Governor Oborevwori praised the House for its timely approval, emphasizing that the swift process reflects a commitment to progress and collaboration. He noted that the 2025 budget prioritizes fiscal discipline, with a deliberate increase in capital expenditure and a reduction in recurrent expenditure to align with global standards in financial management.

“This appropriation bill embodies our commitment to equitable resource distribution and the MORE Agenda—our administration’s blueprint for advancing Delta State through timely and qualitative service delivery,” he added.

The Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Emomotimi Guwor, commended the executive for presenting a well-structured budget that emphasizes project completion, revenue growth, and accountability. He noted that the Eighth Assembly has prioritized legislation aimed at promoting economic development, with the 2025 budget passing all required processes in record time.

Governor Oborevwori extended his gratitude to the House of Assembly and other stakeholders for their unwavering dedication to the state’s development. The collaboration, he said, highlights a shared vision for Delta’s progress.

As the 2025 budget takes effect, it is expected to deliver transformative projects, drive economic growth, and improve the welfare of Delta State citizens. Residents are optimistic that the timely passage and planned implementation will accelerate infrastructural development and provide lasting benefits across the state.
