The judge handling the corruption case filed by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) against former Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi State on Wednesday, walked away from the courtroom owing to crowd control issues.
Disturbed by the unruly behaviour of people who came to witness the trial, Justice Maryann Anenih of the FCT High Court, abruptly stood up and announced that she would not return to continue proceedings, until sanity was restored in the courtroom.
Not long after the judge departed, Bello, who had been sitting in the front of the courtroom, got up and approached the thronging crowd.
