Yobe State’s Commissioner for Works, Engineer. Umar Wakil Duddaye, has commended governor Mai Mala Buni for his steadfast dedication to enhancing the state’s infrastructure.
The commissioner ‘s remark, came during a press briefing in Damaturu, following governor Buni’s presentation of the proposed 2025 budget to the State House of Assembly,Last week Thursday.
The commissioner emphasized the importance of the projects in improving accessibility and elevating the living standards of residents, describing the proposed construction of access roads in all the 178 political wards as “unprecedented,”

Buni’s budget proposal, as noticed by our correspondent, allocated N176.774 billion, representing 55.1% of the total budget, specifically for capital expenditures, with a strong emphasis on road projects.
Apart from the completion of 17 ongoing road construction projects, the government was also observed to have initiated 11 new roads as part of the Ministry of Works’ capital expenditure within the proposed N320.811 billion budget.
In his address, Buni, it would be recalled have affirmed the government’s commitment to constructing access roads that connect all political wards, thereby facilitating better transportation and access to essential services for the people of the state.
