The Provost of the College of Agriculture Science and Technology, Jalingo, Taraba state, Dr. Yakubu Garjila, has highlighted the efforts of the state governor, Dr. Agbu Kefas in ensuring the welfare of staff members hired during the previous administration.
The move, as stated by him, has provided stability and reassurance for employees and their families.
Speaking in an interview with our state correspondent, the provost who was reacting to the olive branches recently extended to the staff of the institution, said the gesture came as a relief to the staff and the institution at large.
The Staff who have not been remunerated for over two years, were observed to have been recently attended to by the state governor, who offset all their two years salaries.

Applauding the governor for his significant contributions to improving the livelihoods of staff and his central role in advancing ongoing development projects at the college, he noted that the governor’s support has been crucial in modernizing the institution’s facilities, thereby enhancing the learning and working environment for both students and staff
While emphasizing that governor Kefas’s leadership has established a strong foundation for the future progress and development of the college, the need for the Staff to reciprocate the gesture, he believed can no longer be overemphasized.
Some of the beneficiaries state who bared their minds to The Trumpet, said the gesture will go a long way to cushion the economic hardship the immediate past administration led by former governor Darius Dickinson Ishaku, inflicted on them.
