The Presidency has denied any rift between President Bola Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima. The allegations, which have gained traction on social media and various news outlets, were dismissed as baseless and unfounded.
Stanley Nkwocha, Senior Special Assistant on Media and Communications to Vice President Shettima, set the record straight in a statement released on Monday. He emphasized that Vice President Shettima remains a “colossal member” of the Tinubu administration, enjoying the “total confidence and full support” of the President.
“The idea that there is discord between President Tinubu and Vice President Shettima is nothing more than illogical conspiracy theories,” Nkwocha stated, adding that these rumors do not reflect the reality within Aso Rock. He highlighted Shettima’s unwavering loyalty and commitment, marking the Vice President as a key pillar in the current administration.
In a heartfelt message celebrating Shettima’s 58th birthday, Nkwocha praised the Vice President for his dedication, describing him as a “beacon of loyalty” in a political landscape often marred by division. “Vice President Shettima stands out as a symbol of dedication and commitment to his principal, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. His support and teamwork reflect a harmonious collaboration that is setting a positive tone for the administration,” Nkwocha affirmed.
The statement also shed light on Shettima’s close working relationship with President Tinubu, emphasizing his recent public praise for the President as a “good soul” and a leader who has earned the trust of Nigerians.
Addressing the persistent rumors of Shettima being sidelined, Nkwocha was clear: “The claims of the Vice President being marginalized are the direct opposite of what’s happening here in Aso Rock. The partnership between President Tinubu and Vice President Shettima is stronger than ever, and their joint efforts are already making waves in Nigeria’s political landscape.”
