Senator representing Delta South Senatorial District at the National Assembly, Senator Joel-Onowakpo Thomas has urged citizens to show love and empathy towards one another. He also noted that sacrifice and patriotism are key towards the enhancement of growth and development across the country.
The Senator stated this weekend in an Easter message to constituents and citizens across the country. He noted that the sacrifices of our past heroes should be honoured by citizens through active participation in democratic processes, promotion of good governance and upholding the rule of law.
According to him, Easter embodies the values of love, hope and sacrifice. He, therefore, advocated that citizens must come together in the spirit of unity and compassion to uplift the country irrespective of ethnicity, religion and social status.
Joel-Onowakpo said: “Easter reminds us of the transformative power of love; how Christ gave his life for us because of love. Therefore, let us embrace one another with love and understanding, transcending barriers of ethnicity, religion, and social status. By fostering a culture of empathy and acceptance, we can build a stronger, more inclusive society where everyone has the opportunity to thrive.

“Furthermore, Easter instils in us a sense of unwavering hope. Despite the challenges we may face, let us remain steadfast in our belief that a brighter future awaits us. “Moreover, Easter calls upon us to embody the true essence of sacrifice and patriotism. Let’s honour the sacrifices of our past heroes and dedicate ourselves to the advancement of our dear nation, by actively participating in democratic processes, promoting good governance, and upholding the rule of law,”
He further reassured his constituents of his commitment to serve with integrity, diligence and humility while urging them to be hopeful and resolute in fostering a brighter future for the Delta South Senatorial District.
