The Deputy Speaker, represented by House Member representing Orumba North/ South Federal Constituency of Anambra State, Princess Chinwe Nnabuife described the National Assembly as a key stakeholder of the Fund.

“I am excited to note that since the enactment of the TETFund Act in 2011, the Fund has performed exceptionally in the provision of physical infrastructure, support for academic staff training and development, book publication, ICT, Research and Development amongst others in public tertiary educational institutions across the country.

“I, therefore, wish to use this opportunity to assure you that the 10th House of Representatives under the leadership of the Speaker, House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Tajudeen Abbas and indeed, the entire National Assembly will continue to provide necessary support to the Fund through the enactment of legislation that would further advance tertiary education in Nigeria,” she said.

Also speaking, Executive Secretary, TETFund, Mr Sonny Echono, said the Fund’s interventions to the university commenced in 2009 and a total of N10,567,075,176.00 had been allocated for infrastructure-related interventions so far.

He assured that the Fund would continue to support the university’s drive for creativity through meaningful research endeavours and provision of necessary infrastructure.

Earlier, Vice-Chancellor, UNIZIK, Professor Charles Esimone, said the inauguration of the projects was part of activities marking the 17th Convocation and Graduation ceremony of the institution.

He appreciated TETFund and the contractors of the projects for their efforts in ensuring the completion of the facilities.
