Operatives of the Lagos State Task force have arrested a suspected land grabber occupying a vast expanse of land at Oluwasimi Estate Mary Land area of the State.
The chairman of Lagos State Taskforce, Shola Jejeloye a Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP) disclosed this today to The Trumpet in his office.
According to the task force boss, the move was in furtherance of the state’s government resolve to rid the metropolis of Land Grabbers and criminal elements looking for properties of unsuspecting individuals to acquire illegally.
He gave the name of the arrested suspect simply as Mr. Isaac who had been occupying the expanse of land situated at Oluwasimi Estate, Kane Village, Maryland Lagos.

He explained that his Operatives acted after series of petitions were submitted by the complainant lieutenant Commander Asasi Adebambo addressed to his office as Chairman of the Lagos State Taskforce to act over the alleged encroachment by the suspect.
In swift response to the petition operatives were mobilize to the location were the suspect was invited and brought to office for questioning.
During interrogation the suspect claimed he bought the land from one Mr. Urobo and said he would contest the legitimacy of his ownership when the Police charge him to court.
The Taskforce Chairman further told The Trumpet that cases like this have become rampant in the state and that is why a sister agency, Lagos State Taskforce on land grabbing has continually partnered with them to nip the problem in the bud.
“The era of Land Grabbers having their way is over. We won’t condone any illegality or forceful occupation of land any longer in Lagos State” he reiterated.
