- says Isoko will be fairly treated in government
A foremost association, Isoko Progress Forum (IPF), comprising intellectuals and business professionals of Isoko extractions has endorsed the candidacy of Sen Ovie Omo-Agege for Delta state gubernatorial elections saying Isoko will be well treated when he becomes the governor of Delta state.
IPF said after an intensive valuation of all the gubernatorial candidates and their manifestoes, the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) possesses the qualities and requisite skills to lead Delta state further from where it ought to be.
In a statement signed on March 11, 2023, by the group National Coordinator and Secretary General, Dr. Goodie Omuyeh and Dr. Prosper Ahworegba respectively, they urged the Isoko people, at home and in diaspora, to vote en mass for Sen Ovie Omo-Agege in the fast-approaching elections.
“We hereby express our support for his campaign and urge all Deltans in general, and Isoko people in particular, wherever they are domiciled, at home or abroad, to vote en mass for DPS Omo-Agege as Governor during the upcoming election.
IPF noted that in several areas the group evaluated the abilities of the candidates not excluding their commitment to promoting fairness, social justice, and equity in the state, Omo-Agege stood ahead notwithstanding his comportment.

“We have also examined their past including education, professions, leadership qualities, and how they have impacted their respective communities,” the group said.
“Additionally, IPF has observed that Senator Omo-Agege is genuinely committed to promoting fairness, social justice, and equity in the state. He has the qualities, comportment, carriage, and demeanor to be Governor of Delta State,” IPF added.
IPF also lamented the injustice by successive governments against the Isoko ethnic nation concluding that Sen Ovie Omo-Agege has the pragmatic insight to identify salient issues bedeviling Delta state whilst exercising his high pedigree and honesty.
“Therefore, we have come to the conclusion that the Deputy President of the Senate (DPS) Ovie Omo-Agege is a great candidate. His pedigree, honest, and pragmatic insight into our State’s problems and needs are unequaled,” the group stated.
Recall that Omo-Agege played a key role in ensuring Delta South senator-elect, Hon Chief Joel-Onowakpo Thomas emerge victorious in the senatorial poll and premised on this, the Isoko people are confident that with him as the governor of Delta state, the Isoko ethnic nation will benefit adequately from his government.
