It has become habitual in the eastern part of Nigeria to observe the stringent order of sit at home by the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB). However, this week’s order turned bloody as lives and properties were reportedly lost.
The residents of Anambra and Enugu had barely begun activities when hoodlums struck, shooting sporadically. Several locations in Enugu state witnessed the unlawful shooting of these unidentified men.
Similarly, in the Ekwulobia/Oko of Anambra state the activities of these unidentified gun men has been a reoccurring decimal.  Oko had on Tuesday witnessed the activities of suspected armed robbers.
Some alleged that they were kidnappers. A source who spoke to our correspondent said “we heard gunshots around our barbing saloon, immediately we had to lock ourselves in because we haven’t closed for the day. we thought it was over, so we decided close when they started shooting again.

“Not quite long, while we were yet in the shop, somebody said that they are at Total Filling Station, you guys should better close. Immediately we left, they returned and began shooting again very close to our shop. I just thank God for my life. I cannot tell what they really came for and who they were.”
Another lady who identified herself as Nneka allegedly said they could be kidnappers. “They took a person and his car away after shooting him. I believe they were kidnappers. The way we experience armed men’s attack now in Oko is alarming and this needs urgent security attention. This is a student environment, with this, and this is negatively affecting students and their study.”
In Ekwulobia unknown armed men also attacked the Ekwulobia central market. The market which is the major food business center of the community was thrown into confusion as unknown armed men stormed the market and burnt not less than five motorcycles for failure of compliance to sit at home order.
