Edo State Government has said it will commence a re-validation exercise for local government pensioners in the state.
In a statement, the Head of Local Government Administration (HOLGA) and Secretary, Local Government Staff Pension Board, James Enoma Okungbowa, said the routine ‘I Am Alive Re-validation Exercise,’ for all local government pensioners will hold from September 1st to 8th, 2022.
He said, “It is hereby announced for the information of all Local Government Pensioners that the routine ‘I AM ALIVE’ Revalidation Exercise has been scheduled to hold from 1st to 8th September, 2022, in all the senatorial districts.
“The exercise will hold in the secretariat of each of the Local Government councils across the state from 9am to 4pm; except for Oredo Local Government Area, which will be held at Imaguero School Hall.”

The schedule, according to him, is as follows: Edo North Senatorial District will hold as follows – September, 1st- 2nd 2022 at the Local Government Council halls in Akoko Edo, Owan East, Owan West, Etsako West, Etsako East, Etsako Central LGAs by 9am.
Okungbowa said in Edo Central Senatorial District including Uhunmwonde LGA, the revalidation exercise will hold from 5th – 6th September, 2022 at the Local Government Council halls in Esan South East; Esan North East; Esan Central; Esan West; Igueben and Uhunmwonde LGAs by 9am.
He noted that the exercise will hold in Edo South from 7th-8th September, 2022 in the local government councils halls in Ikpoba-Okha, Egor, Ovia South West, Ovia North East and Orhionmwon LGAs; except in Oredo LGA, where the exercise will be conducted at the Imaguero School Hall by 9am. The Secretary of the Local Government Staff Pension Board urged all pensioners to physically present themselves at the venues with their pensioner’s Identity Card and photocopy of biometric printout slip only, adding that “Pensioners in the Diaspora are to be screened via SKYPE.”
