English midfielder Harvey Elliott is excited to have penned a long-term contract with Liverpool after returning to the club last season following the completion of a loan spell with Blackburn.
On his return, the 19-year-old signed a five-year deal last summer.
However, it seems the club have found the teenager as a promising talent and decided to improve the terms of his contract that will see the youngster remain in Anfield until 2027.
Speaking to the media department of the club after fulfilling his long-time dream, Elliot said he was happy to commit his future to the Reds for a long time which he acknowledged is a great thing to do for a club he is an ardent supporter.
He said, “It’s always nice to know that I’m going to be here for many more years, which is always a great thing with it being my boyhood club and there is nothing in this world that makes me more happy and more excited than this.”
Elliott joined Liverpool in 2019 from Fulham at €1.7m fee and the following year, he was sent on loan to Blackburn Rovers.
Last season after his return, Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp incorporated him into his squad where he made 13 appearances in all competitions coupled with a goal in the 3-1 win against Cardiff in FA Cup.

Elliott added, “It’s been a big roller coaster for me and my family and even for the club. So much has happened in the years that I have been here.
“We’ve already won so much and hopefully we can win so much more, so just to know that I am going to be here for a long time again – as I said, it’s always a wonderful feeling for myself and my family [and] being Liverpool supporters there is no better place in this world to be than playing for Liverpool and to put the shirt on and go out and play for the team and the fans,” he added elatedly.
Moreover, Elliott is poised to make an impact in Liverpool where memories can be created.
“I’m hoping there are many more memories to come with it but I’m just so excited to put pen to paper and stay here for a lot longer,” he said.
The midfielder has already started this season with his first appearance against Manchester City in the Community Shield and was also in action for Liverpool in the 2-2 draw against Fulham at Craven Cottage.
