Imo State Command of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, says it has intercepted a truck carrying about 15,000 litres of diesel concealed in polythene bags.
The corps during its operations also arrested three suspects believed to be the truck driver, conductor and a member of the syndicate.
The latest interception is coming barely one month after the Imo Command of the Corps intercepted seven trucks loaded with diesel and arrested 15 suspects believed to be members of oil bunkering syndicate.

State Commandant of NSCDC, Matthew Ovye the truck loaded the product in Portharcourt en route to Enugu before they were intercepted in Owerri adding that the diesel in question is suspected to be adulterated product.
Ovye who stressed the determination of his men to continuously clamp down on the economic saboteurs advised them to engage in more meaningful ventures.
“With the activation of intelligence that will aid in the averting of the oil threat, the NSCDC believes it is more determined than ever to combat illegal activities head-on,” Ovye said.
