A Lyga side Kaunas Žalgiris have signed Nigerian Seth Sincere until 2024 to bolster their defensive setup following the injuries that have affected two of its defensive players, Ben Anis and Jason Noslin.
The A Lyga club said the player has been training with the squad.
In a statement by the club, the 24-year-old started his football career at the Supreme Court and Rhapsody academies in Nigeria before he left for Turkey in 2017 to join Yeni Malatyaspor club in Malatya.
He featured in the Turkish side U21 before he was promoted to the senior team to play in the Turkish topflight league.
To confirm the development, Sincere appreciated God for the opportunity to join the Lithuanian side adding that several of the club’s players facilitated his settling down much easier.
He said he learnt a lot while in Turkey, playing at the highest level to boost his confidence with the ball.
“First of all, I would like to thank God for this opportunity. When I arrived in Lithuania, I found many good football players who welcomed me kindly and made everything easier,” the defender told the club.

“During the year I spent in Turkey, I really learned a lot, I played at a high level, and my confidence in my abilities increased a lot. I can’t wait to make my debut in Lithuania,” he added.
Kaunas Žalgiris explained that the ‘defender who played 14 matches in the Turkish top division in 2019-2020, spent the season on loan at the second Turkish football league club “Bolusspor” and played 19 matches there’.
Sincere, during the contract negotiations, was overwhelmed with difficulties which emanated from visa issuance and details of his previous contract with the Turkish club.
He said, “I had problems with the visa and the details of the former contract, which took too long. I’m glad it’s in the past and I’m ready to commit to this club.
“I want to help the club in every possible way, so I will do everything the coaches ask of me,” Sincere, who chose to wear jersey number 18, added.
The footballer has also represented Nigeria in international matches, especially in the 2016 Olympic Games where he won a bronze medal.
