Ivorian national team player Sylvain Gbohouo has been handed 18 months ban by the International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) after he was found guilty of testing positive for trimetazidine.

In a report by the FIFA Disciplinary Committee, the substance is against the anti-doping law and also violates the WADA’s list of prohibited substances.

Following the ruling, the Ivorian International suspension according to the Disciplinary Committee started from the day the chairman of the committee issued him a suspension on December 23, 2021.

“As a result of the presence of the prohibited substance in his sample, the player was found to be in violation of article 6 of the FIFA Anti-Doping Regulations as read in conjunction with article 17 of the FIFA Disciplinary Code,” FIFA said. The Trumpet Gathered

“The aforementioned suspension period starts on 23 December 2021, the date on which the player was provisionally suspended by the chairman of the FIFA Disciplinary Committee.
