Bayelsa Queens striker Monday Gift has won three individual awards in the Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) season and Super 6 tournament.

Gift, who was very instrumental to the Bayelsa Queen’s success in the Super 6 tourney in Benin, recorded the highest goals to enable her win the highest goalscorer award amongst other awards.

Not limited to the above, the clinical striker who was a subject of controversy for Delta Queens, petitioning her eligibility to feature for Bayelsa Queens, was named the ‘Player of the Match’ in the final against Nasarawa Amazons at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium, Benin City.
The invariably untamed Gift, starting the campaign on a good note and becoming an unavoidable nightmare to all defenders, scored a brace to decapitate Nasarawa to a 2-1 win to lift the female league top-flight clubs’ coveted trophy.

More so, the striker who also scooped home the NWFL ‘Player of the Season award, scoring a hat-trick against Naija Ratel in Super 6 tourney, sealed a late win against defending champion Rivers United.

Resultantly, Gift won a substantial cash reward in the tourney after the Bayelsa state government promised to dole out N200,000 per goal scored by Bayelsa Queens in the Super 6 tournament.
