Popular Nigerian TikToker Habeeb Hamzat, widely known as Peller, has sparked controversy on social media after speaking about masturbation, marriage and success, with Nigerians divided over his claim that the habit does not automatically block a person’s blessings.

Key Highlights

  • Peller reportedly disclosed during livestreams that he masturbated a day before his wedding.
  • He later received a mansion reportedly worth ₦400 million from billionaire businessman King Ochacho.
  • Nigerians are divided over whether the habit can block financial success or spiritual blessings.
  • Some users linked masturbation to spiritual energy and productivity, while others called it a sin that does not automatically block blessings.
  • The debate comes amid reports that Peller and his wife, Jarvis, have welcomed a baby girl.

Peller reportedly disclosed during recent livestreams that he masturbated, popularly referred to as “soapy” in Nigerian slang, a day before his wedding, despite later receiving a mansion reportedly worth ₦400 million from billionaire businessman King Ochacho.

The revelation has triggered heated reactions, with some social media users warning young people against masturbation, while others questioned the belief that the habit could prevent financial success or spiritual blessings.

The controversy comes amid reports that Peller and his wife, fellow content creator Jarvis, have welcomed a baby girl. The TikTok star has also expressed his commitment to giving his wife and daughter the best things in life.

How Nigerians Reacted

Reacting to the discussion, X user @hamaadroqeeb8 argued that regret associated with masturbation could affect personal progress.

“It’s hard to progress when you can’t figure out what keeping you stuck, it’s hard to progress when you regret everytime after you soapy, your brain will suggest more regrets.

“I am not pellar until I become like him. I will testify his word, but for now. May I not soapy,” the user wrote.

Another user, Comrade Ayumzi, whose handle is @ayumzi, linked masturbation to spiritual energy and questioned whether Peller’s success could be explained by his personal efforts alone.

“Frequently throwing away sperm cells that are life force; is to directly chose to drain yourself of spiritual energy powerful enough for you to become who you were created to be,” Ayumzi wrote.

The user added: “No one makes it this much at his age without some strong dark energy support from some corners.”

Ayumzi further suggested that Peller could have spiritual support behind his success, although the user provided no evidence to substantiate the allegation.

Meanwhile, Goodluck Barugu, posting as @bubarugu, warned others against treating Peller’s experience as advice to follow.

“Bro to bro never find this information helpful, because it could affect you alot. Masturbation isn’t something you should play with,” Barugu wrote.

Another commenter, Mitchell, with the handle @mitchellamros, shifted the conversation towards marriage and questioned whether Peller’s revelation could raise concerns for his wife.

“People only masturbate either when they don’t get sexor when they want sex from a particular person,” Mitchell wrote.

The user added: “In Peller’s case, Jarvis is handy for it, so he doesn’t need her mental thoughts or picture to masturbate. So who was Peller fantasizing when he was masturbating?

“Who is the woman that was in his thoughts as he was stroking his hands up and down his d*ck? That should be Jarvis’s concern.”

Mitchell also argued: “A married man is not suppose to masturbate because the wife is readily available, except there’s someone else he wants who isn’t.”

However, Issa Abdulfatai, posting as @IssaAbdulf18781, offered a different perspective, describing masturbation as a sin while rejecting the idea that it automatically prevents blessings.

“For me it’s just a sin i don’t think it automatically block blessings but if you want make am or you’re in the process of making it for me it’s advisable to stay away from it so that you can focus and have strength in your work… read books or watch movies instead,” the user wrote.

Victor Temitope, whose handle is @VictorTemi41486, also argued that compulsive masturbation could affect productivity.

“Since you aren’t productive due to addiction any small time you re supposed to focus you dan stroke and sleep automatically blessing will be stopped nah with consecutive stroking,” the user wrote.

A Wider Debate

The debate has placed Peller’s comments at the centre of a wider conversation about masturbation, religious beliefs, personal discipline, marriage and financial success.

While some commenters associate the habit with spiritual consequences, others focus on its potential effect on productivity and relationships.

Peller’s reported experience has also raised questions about whether people should judge personal habits by another person’s financial achievements.

His reported mansion gift and the news of his baby girl have further fuelled the discussion, with social media users debating whether success should be linked to beliefs about masturbation and blessings.
