However, the 2.3 million nation of Guinea-Bissau delivered one of the outstanding results of Matchday Two, as its national team outshined the Super Eagles of Nigeria to a (3-0) defeat to maintain their chances of qualifying in Group L.
Elsewhere, team Gambia also produced a remarkable comeback, recovering from two goals down to beat the ‘Black Stars’ of Ghana (4-2), while Rwanda came from behind to shun Cape Verde 2-1 away from home-soil.
Meanwhile, co-hosts Uganda defeated Libya (1-0), while Zambia recovered from their opening-day loss by beating Togo (2-0).
Notebily, the 48 teams participating in the qualifiers are divided into 12 groups of four. Because Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda are automatic qualifiers as co-hosts, only the highest-placed non-host nation in their respective groups will secure a qualifying place.

In group L, the Super Eagles of Nigeria fell-short to Guinea-Bissau yesterday in a (3-0) encounter, after claiming a three points in Uyo; Akwa Ibom State, against Madagascar.
Guinea-Bissau strengthened their position at the top of Group L with a commanding lead of six points and five goals, while Nigeria currently in second position with three points and minus two goals as Madagascar and Tanzania (co-host) of 2027 AFCONS with Kenya; Uganda are below the table log.
Franculino opened the scoring after 15 minutes before Mama Baldé doubled the hosts’ advantage midway through the second half. Álvaro Djaló then completed the emphatic victory in the fifth minute of stoppage time.
In summary, ahead of the November window qualifiers; team Nigeria must get the needed victory against Tanzania as well as scoring many goals to compete favorably also, hoping Madagascar loses to Guinea-Bissau.
