Nigerian actor and content creator Debo Adebayo, popularly known as Mr Macaroni, says messages from people recalling how he helped them moved him to tears. In a post on X on Saturday, September 26, he reflected on generosity, personal hardship and the support he received from others.

Mr Macaroni reflects on messages of gratitude
Mr Macaroni said people had sent him messages describing assistance they received from him at different times, including gestures he no longer remembered. He said the messages reminded him to be grateful for getting through what he described as one of the hardest periods of his life.
He also reflected on his belief that what he has should be shared with others. The entertainer said he had spent too much time thinking about what he had lost instead of appreciating the people who helped him.
Entertainer opens up about needing support
Mr Macaroni said he was accustomed to giving and found it difficult to ask for help when he faced financial challenges. He said he would usually repay borrowed money with interest, even when lenders did not ask him to do so.
He described a period when he asked people for assistance and felt close to giving up. An unnamed benefactor, whom he described as a “Brother,” repeatedly helped him settle debts. Mr Macaroni said the person preferred not to be identified publicly and that the support restored his hope.

The actor also thanked his close circle, which he referred to as “Mr Macaroni & Friends.” He singled out music executive Don Jazzy for support dating back to his university days, and also expressed appreciation to Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen and Pastor Bolaji.
His post followed renewed attention to his generosity after veteran actor Peter Fatomilola recounted receiving ₦200,000 for transport and a later ₦1 million payment after working with Mr Macaroni. PUNCH also reported on Mr Macaroni’s post and the support he said he received.
He says he has no regrets about helping others
Despite the difficulties he described, Mr Macaroni said he does not regret helping people. He said he is now in a better place and has learned from the challenges of recent years.
