The Isoko South Local Government Council in Delta State has directed commercial motorcycle operators in Oleh and surrounding communities to stop operations by 10:00 p.m. daily and resume at 6:00 a.m., with the new operating hours taking effect from October 1, 2026.
The directive is part of measures adopted by the council to strengthen security and protect residents, particularly ahead of the festive season and the 2027 general elections.

The directive was conveyed to the Motorcycle (Okada) Riders Association, Isoko South, in a letter dated September 18, 2026.
The letter was signed by the Secretary to the Isoko South Local Government Council, Hon. Osuofa E.A., on behalf of the council chairman.

According to the council, the decision followed a security meeting held on September 16, during which officials and stakeholders reviewed security concerns within the local government area and discussed measures to improve the safety of residents.
Under the new arrangement, commercial motorcycle operators in the affected communities are required to suspend their activities from 10:00 p.m. each day and may resume operations from 6:00 a.m.
The council urged Okada operators and other residents to comply with the directive, stressing that their cooperation would support efforts to maintain peace and public order across Isoko South.
It also called on community leaders, residents and other stakeholders to work with security agencies and the local government to promote a safe environment.
The restriction is expected to remain in force as the council intensifies security preparations ahead of the yuletide period and the 2027 general elections.
