BBNaija star Bella Okagbue has broken her silence on her highly publicised breakup with fellow reality TV star Sheggz, addressing speculation surrounding their relationship, marriage plans, engagement ring and promises she says were never fulfilled.
Bella spoke out through her Instagram Story after watching different versions of her relationship story circulate online.
According to the reality star, she initially chose not to speak because she believed certain aspects of her relationship should remain private. However, she said her silence should not be interpreted as an admission of wrongdoing.
“For the past few days, I have watched people tell my story for me. I stayed silent because I believed some things deserved to remain private, but my silence should never be mistaken for guilt. I loved genuinely,” she wrote.
Bella explained that she defended the relationship because she genuinely believed in it at the time. She also revealed that she chose to give Sheggz another chance because she believed people could change and grow.
“I defended the relationship because I believed in it at the time, and I chose to give someone I loved a second chance because I believe people can grow and change,” she added.

Addressing conversations about marriage and the engagement ring, Bella pushed back against suggestions that her desire to marry Sheggz amounted to desperation.
She maintained that wanting to marry someone she loved was not a sign of desperation, adding that knowing when to walk away from a relationship is an act of discernment.
“On marriage and the ring, let me be clear: wanting marriage with someone you love is not desperation. Knowing when not to marry them is discernment,” Bella stated.
She further suggested that the relationship had been marked by promises that ultimately went unfulfilled.
“Sometimes, it takes more courage to walk away than to stay. A ring doesn’t fix what made a relationship impossible. A hundred promises. Not one fulfilled,” she wrote.
Bella also hinted that there are aspects of what happened between her and Sheggz that she has deliberately chosen not to reveal publicly.
She concluded by indicating that she had given love, loyalty and the possibility of change a chance but had now decided to prioritise herself and move forward.
Her statement comes shortly after fresh controversy surrounding the former couple, including allegations made by fellow BBNaija star Phyna about their relationship. Sheggz has yet to publicly respond to Bella’s latest statement.
