Edo State Governor Godwin Obaseki and his lieutenants in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) have suffered a serious setback in their fight to garner delegates of their choice for the forthcoming party primaries.
An Abuja Federal High Court has stopped the state government from using what is suspected to be its manipulated ad-hoc delegates from participating in any of the PDP primaries including national delegates, the House of Assembly, House of Representatives, and Senate.
The only recognized list of delegates is the ones monitored by the Independent National Electoral C o m m i s s i o n ( I N E C ) and submitted to their headquarters.

There are rumours that with what is now considered as the final nail on the head of the Obaseki plot to control the PDP in Edo State there are plans from his camp for defection into another political party.
Parties said to be under consideration in this wise are the Labour Party (LP) and the Peoples Redemption Party (PRP).
