Amaechi Expresses Optimistic Ahead 2027 General Elections, Says “My Mother Will Be Happy If I Win”

Vice presidential candidate of the African Democratic Congress, (ADC) and former Governor of Rivers State, Rotimi Amaechi has expressed optimism on the prospects of his party ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Speaking when stakeholders of the Rivers State chapter of the ADC paid him a condolence visit at his Port Harcourt home on Thursday, Amaechi reflected on the political future of the nation, asserting that his late mother would be happy if his party wins the presidential election.

He expressed appreciation to the leadership and members of the ADC the state for their show of love, solidarity, and support.

“My mother will be happy if I win the 2027 general elections,” insisting that “elections must be won on the fields,”

The former minister of transportation emphasized the need for sustained grassroots engagement, effective party organization, and continuous interaction with the electorate.

He however, expressed concern over the prevailing economic and social conditions in the country and criticized the federal government’s handling of the challenges.

According to Amaechi, rising poverty, insecurity, and the increasing hardship experienced by many Nigerians require urgent attention and responsive leadership.

He called for policies that place the welfare, security, and prosperity of Nigerians at the center of governance.

Earlier the state Secretary of the party, Sam.Etetegwung, presented the party’s condolence letter to Amaechi on behalf of the Rivers State Executive Committee of the ADC and the entire members of the party.

The condolence message, signed by the Rivers State Chairman, Chief Chukwudi Dimpka conveyed the party’s heartfelt sympathy and prayers for God’s comfort, strength, and peace for the family during this difficult time.

The visit concluded with prayers for the Amaechi family and a reaffirmation of the state chapter’s solidarity and unwavering support for Amaechi during his period of mourning.
