Niger State Governor, Mohammed Bago, has donated official vehicles to the management staff of Abdulkadir Kure University, Minna (AKUM), as part of efforts to improve their productivity and strengthen the institution’s development.
The gesture was announced in a statement issued by the Chief Press Secretary to the governor, Bologi Ibrahim.
Presenting the vehicles at the Niger State Liaison Office in Abuja, Governor Bago said the donation is aimed at enhancing the mobility of the university’s management and encouraging greater commitment to their responsibilities.
He reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to supporting higher education, assuring that the welfare of lecturers and other university staff would remain a priority.
“What we are doing is to support the academic community, and by the grace of God, the welfare of our lecturers and staff will not be compromised.
“We are determined to make Abdulkadir Kure University one of the best universities in Nigeria,” the governor said.
Governor Bago congratulated the beneficiaries and urged them to redouble their efforts toward building the university into a centre of academic excellence.

He noted that the institution must continue to distinguish itself, especially alongside Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida University, Lapai, and the newly approved Abdulsalami Abubakar University of Agriculture and Climate Action, Mokwa.
Responding on behalf of the university, the Pro-Chancellor, Prof. Mohammed Yahaya, expressed appreciation to the governor for the donation and his continued investment in the growth of the institution.
He said Governor Bago’s support has significantly enhanced the university’s profile and contributed to the growing number of students seeking admission.
“Abdulkadir Kure University today is unarguably one of the leading state universities in Nigeria in terms of attracting students.
“We are deeply honoured by this gesture. Your vision of expanding access to education has become a reality, and your contributions to human capital development are remarkable,” he said.
The pro-chancellor reaffirmed the university’s commitment to justifying the confidence reposed in it through improved academic standards and quality service delivery.
