The newly appointed Assistant Inspector-General of Police in charge of Zone 5 headquarters in Benin City, Edo State, Salman-Agbonika, has appealed to residents of Edo and Delta States to support the police with timely and credible information to enhance crime prevention and improve public safety.
Speaking during his formal assumption of office as the 33rd assistant inspector-general of police for Zone 5, Agbonika stressed that effective policing can only be achieved through a strong partnership between law enforcement agencies and the public.
The new zonal police commander pledged to consolidate on the achievements of his predecessors by promoting professionalism, intelligence-led policing, respect for human rights and improved operational efficiency across the zone.

Agbonika also charged officers and men under the Zone 5 Command to remain disciplined, dedicated and accountable in the discharge of their duties, emphasizing the need for professionalism and integrity in policing.
He reaffirmed his commitment to enhancing security across the zone while working to build public trust and confidence in the police through proactive policing and community engagement.
