For Senegal, the loss marked a third consecutive defeat at the championship.
They had opened the tournament with a narrow 3-2 setback to Morocco before falling 3-0 to Tunisia, and were again unable to halt their losing streak against the resurgent Cameroonians.
The 2026 African U-18 Volleyball Championship is being held from July 20 to 30 at the Pioneers Club in Egypt, featuring 14 of Africa’s top youth national teams competing for continental honours.
Organised under the patronage of Egypt’s Minister of Youth and Sports, Johar Nabil, and Engineer Ayman Attia, the championship continues to showcase some of the continent’s brightest emerging volleyball talents.
With their first victory now secured, Cameroon will look to carry the momentum into their remaining fixtures as they seek a stronger finish in the tournament, while Senegal will be determined to bounce back and earn their first win before the competition concludes.
