The Lagos State Police Command has arrested 147 suspected criminals and recovered 250 expanded cartridges, 22 machetes, illicit drugs and other dangerous items during a coordinated raid on criminal hideouts across parts of the state.

  2. The operation targeted black spots, including Boolar and Super Ile-Epo, following credible intelligence aimed at flushing out hoodlums and other criminal elements.
  3. Police recovered 250 expanded cartridges, 22 machetes, knives, battle axes, assorted charms, and substances suspected to be Indian hemp during the raid.
  4. All 147 suspects are in police custody, with investigations ongoing to determine their involvement in criminal activities before prosecution.
  5. Commissioner of Police CP Tijani Fatai reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to sustaining Operation KO S’AYE III and urged residents to provide timely and credible information to support crime-fighting efforts.

The operation, carried out under the ongoing Operation KO S’AYE III, targeted identified black spots, including Boolar, Super Ile-Epo and other locations, in a bid to flush out hoodlums and other criminal elements.

According to the Command, the raid was conducted at about 5:30 a.m. on Sunday by a joint team of operatives drawn from different police formations, acting on credible intelligence.

Items recovered during the operation include 250 expanded cartridges, two knives, five battle axes, one pair of scissors, one lighter, 22 machetes, assorted charms and substances suspected to be Indian hemp.

Police said all 147 suspects are in custody, while investigations are ongoing to determine their level of involvement in criminal activities.

The Command added that suspects found culpable would be charged to court at the conclusion of investigations.

Commending the operatives for their professionalism, the Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, CP Tijani Fatai, reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to sustaining Operation KO S’AYE III to rid the state of criminal elements.

He said the operation would continue across Lagos to ensure criminals have no hiding place and to guarantee the safety of residents.

The police commissioner also appealed to members of the public to support security agencies with timely and credible information that would aid the identification of criminal hideouts and the arrest of offenders across the state.
