Former Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN) Vice President, Victor William, has been thrown into mourning following the death of his father, Rev. Dr. William Uzochukwu Okoye, Founder and General Overseer of All Christians Fellowship Mission (ACFM).
Rev. Dr. Okoye passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 15, 2026, according to an official statement jointly issued by the Board of Trustees, the National Executive Council of ACFM, and the Okoye family.
The late cleric was widely respected for his decades of Christian ministry and national service. He also served as Chaplain of the Aso Villa Chapel during the administrations of former Presidents Olusegun Obasanjo and Goodluck Jonathan, where he ministered to government officials and members of the Christian community.
Describing his passing as a “glorious home call,” the church leadership said although the mission had lost its earthly shepherd, heaven had welcomed “a faithful servant who dedicated his entire life to the service of God and humanity.”

It added that the leadership of the mission had begun consultations with the immediate family on arrangements to celebrate the life and ministry of the late cleric.
Details of the funeral and burial ceremonies, the church said, will be announced through its official communication channels at the appropriate time.
Rev. Dr. Okoye is remembered for his commitment to evangelism, spiritual leadership and service to both the Church and the nation, leaving behind a legacy that impacted countless lives across Nigeria.
