Nollywood actress Cynthia Anijekwu has made an emotional appeal for financial support after revealing that she is battling cancer for the second time.
In a video circulating on various social media platforms, the actress disclosed that she was first diagnosed with cancer in 2023, when she underwent surgery and chemotherapy in an effort to treat the disease.
According to Anijekwu, the cancer later recurred and has now spread to her bones, making her treatment more complex and significantly more expensive.
She said she has been admitted to the hospital several times in recent months and now spends more than ₦600,000 monthly on medical care.

Moreover, the actress added that doctors have also recommended radiation therapy and another surgery as part of her treatment plan.
Describing the financial burden as overwhelming, the actress said she and her family can no longer cope with the rising cost of treatment.
“I have cancer. I did my surgery and took chemotherapy, but later it came back again. I’ve been in and out of the hospital. The doctor recently told me it has reached my bones, and the treatment is now much more expensive,” she said.
Anijekwu also revealed that the illness has affected both of her breasts and caused swelling in one of her hands. Despite the challenges, she said she remains determined to fight for her life.
“I need to live. I need to survive. I’m asking Nigerians to please help me. Anyone that can help, please, I need help,” she pleaded.
Appealing to Nigerians both at home and abroad, the actress said every contribution would make a difference toward her treatment.
“Your one naira, your two naira can add up to something reasonable for me to get the proper treatment for this cancer. I’m begging you, please help me,” she added.
Her appeal has since attracted reactions on social media, with many users offering prayers and calling for support to help fund her treatment.
