The Adamawa State Police Command has arrested 33 suspects during a coordinated raid on identified criminal hideouts in Yola South and Girei Local Government Councilsz as part of its ongoing crackdown on crime across the state.

The intelligence-led operation, carried out on June 27, involved divisional police officers under the Yola Area Command and was led by the area commander.
According to the police, the raid targeted several criminal flashpoints, including Bamgel Mafias Quarters, Yolde Pate Junction/New Road, behind LCCN Church, Shagari Phase II, Sabon Fegi, Unguwan Burauba, Mbamoi, Hayin Gada, Anguwan Tsamiya, Anguwan Fulani, Sokoto street, and Yola Market.
Police said the operation resulted in the arrest of 33 suspects believed to be involved in various criminal activities, including Shilla gangsterism, drug-related offences, and other forms of crime.

Items recovered during the raid include, one cutlass, one knife, one antelope horn, 10 razor blades, suspected banned substances, and dry leaves suspected to be Indian hemp.
The command said the recovered exhibits have been documented and will be presented as evidence during prosecution.
According to the police, the suspects are currently undergoing screening and profiling.
It said those found culpable will be charged in court, while investigations continue to determine their involvement in other criminal activities.
Commissioner of Police, Kabiru Hassan, commended the professionalism and dedication of the officers involved in the operation and directed that similar intelligence-led raids be sustained across the state to deny criminal elements safe havens.
He reaffirmed the command’s commitment to combating crime and safeguarding lives and property across Adamawa State.
The police command also appealed to members of the public to continue providing timely and credible information to support ongoing efforts to maintain peace, law, and order throughout the state.
