The Lagos State Police Command has uncovered an alleged cult network following the arrest of five suspected members of the Aye Confraternity during an intelligence-led operation in the state.

The suspects were arrested along the Ago/Festac Bridge axis after police officers conducting a stop-and-search operation intercepted a Toyota Camry XLE saloon car occupied by two men, identified as Emmanuel John, and David Godwin.
A search conducted on the suspects and the vehicle reportedly led to the recovery of substances suspected to be hard drugs.
During preliminary questioning, the two suspects allegedly confessed to being members of the Aye Confraternity.
Police investigations later led to the arrest of three other suspected members of the group — Samuel Owubokiri, Adetona Seyi, and David Chigozie.

The Lagos State Police Command said several items were recovered from the suspects, including military camouflage, two machetes, a battle axe, a knife, about 500 SIM cards, five mobile phones, five laptops, charms and substances suspected to be illicit drugs.
The suspects are also alleged to have admitted their membership of the confraternity during interrogation.
The development comes as security agencies continue operations aimed at disrupting cult activities, organised crime and other forms of violence across Lagos State.
The Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, Tijani Fatai, reaffirmed the command’s determination to sustain its fight against cultism and criminal activities.
He urged residents to remain vigilant and provide credible information that would assist the police in preventing crime and maintaining public safety.
