A statement issued on Monday, June 29, 2026, by the Director of Communication, Catholic Diocese of Enugu, Rev. Father Anthony Aneke titled: “Disclaimer on the Proposed Political Endorsement Rally At Jubilee Hall, Holy Ghost Cathedral Enugu,” referenced a viral media announcement of the event scheduled to hold on July 3, 2026, and distanced the church from the programme.
The statement said since the event is intended as a political endorsement gathering, the diocese does not allow the use of it’s churches, parish halls or other ecclesiastical facilities for partisan political rallies, endorsements or similar activities.
